Wikipedia - Copa de la Liga Profesional

The Copa de la Liga Profesional (English: Professional League Cup; officially named "Copa Diego Armando Maradona" in its first edition) is an official Argentine football cup competition. The cup was planned and organised by the "Liga Profesional de Fútbol", a body linked to the Argentine Football Association (AFA) that replaced the defunct Superliga Argentina. This cup was conceived as a contingency competition after the schedule for a regular league season had been repeatedly delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

After the death of Diego Maradona in November 2020, the competition was named after him. Nevertheless, the LPF executives decided to suppress the "Diego Maradona" name to keep distance from the conflict between Maradona's heirs and lawyer Matías Morla, owner of the brand and former representative of Maradona.

Boca Juniors was the first champion of the competition, after beating Banfield in the final.

Argentína - Copa de la Liga Profesional je argentínska futbalová liga, ktorú organizuje Argentínska futbalová asociácia. Založená bola v roku 2020 a jej víťazom sa stáva tím s najvyšším počtom bodov získaných počas celej súťaže.

Liga sa hrá v dvoch fázach: fáza skupín a fáza vyraďovacích zápasov. V skupinovej fáze je 14 tímov rozdelených do dvoch skupín po 7 tímov. Každý tím hrá s každým tímom vo svojej skupine jeden zápas doma a jeden vonku. Dva najlepšie tímy z každej skupiny postúpia do vyraďovacej fázy.

Vyraďovacia fáza pozostáva z dvoch semifinálových zápasov a finále. Semifinálové zápasy sa hrajú formou jedného zápasu na neutrálnom ihrisku. Víťazi semifinálových zápasov postúpia do finále, ktoré sa tiež hrá formou jedného zápasu na neutrálnom ihrisku.

Argentína - Copa de la Liga Profesional je dôležitá súťaž pre argentínske kluby, pretože im dáva možnosť kvalifikovať sa na medzinárodné turnaje, ako je napríklad Pohár osloboditeľov.
