Wikipedia - Oberliga Westfalen

The Oberliga Westfalen is the highest level football league in the region of Westphalia, which is part of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The league existed from 1978 to 2008, but was then replaced by the NRW-Liga, a new statewide league. With the reform of the league system in 2012, which reduced the Regionalliga West to clubs from North Rhine-Westphalia only and disbanded the NRW-Liga below it, the Oberliga Westfalen was reintroduced as the highest tier in the region and the fifth level overall in Germany. It is one of fourteen Oberligas in German football, the fifth tier of the German football league system.

Nemecko - Oberliga Westfalen

Nemecká futbalová liga Oberliga Westfalen je jednou z piatich regionálnych líg na štvrtej úrovni v nemeckom futbalovom ligovom systéme. O postup do tretej ligy (3. Liga) sa hrá baráž.

Liga vznikla v roku 1947 ako „Landesliga Westfalen“, pričom v prvých rokoch zahŕňala tímy z celého Vestfálska. V roku 1978 bola rozdelená na dve divízie, „Oberliga Westfalen“ a „Verbandsliga Westfalen“.

Od sezóny 2008/09 sa tímy z regiónu Vestfálsko-Lippe zúčastňujú Oberligy Westfalen, zatiaľ čo tímy z regiónu južného Vestfálska súťažia v Oberlige Südwestfalen.

Liga pozostáva z 18 tímov, ktoré hrajú dvojkolovo každý s každým. Víťaz postupuje priamo do tretej ligy, zatiaľ čo druhý tím postupuje do baráže proti víťazovi Oberligy Niedersachsen.

Najúspešnejšími klubmi v Oberlige Westfalen sú SC Paderborn 07, ktorý vyhral ligu šesťkrát, a Preußen Münster, ktorý vyhral päťkrát.
