Wikipedia - Primera C Metropolitana

The Primera C Metropolitana is one of the two professional leagues that form the fourth level of the Argentine football league system. Primera C Metropolitana is made up of 20 clubs mainly from the city of Buenos Aires and its metropolitan area (Greater Buenos Aires).

The other league at level four is the Torneo Federal B, where teams from regional leagues take part.

History

Originally named "Tercera División" (second level), the first championship was held in 1900, being won by Alumni (still under the "English High School" name). With the creation of División Intermedia in 1911, the division became the fourth level behind Segunda División. It lasted until 1932 when the Intermedia was suppressed and Tercera División became the 3rd. division/level again since the 1933 season.

In 1944 its name changed to "Primera Amateur", which lasted to 1962, when the tournament was renamed "Primera C", Since the new restructuring of the league system in 1985, the division has become the fourth category of Argentine football (lower than Primera División, Primera B Nacional and Primera B Metropolitana).

**Argentína - Primera C Metropolitana**

Argentína - Primera C Metropolitana je tretia najvyššia futbalová súťaž v Argentíne po Primera División a Primera B Nacional. Súťaž sa hrá od roku 1908 a súťaží v nej 20 tímov. Víťaz súťaže postupuje do Primera B Nacional a posledné štyri tímy zostupujú do Primera D.

**História**

Súťaž Primera C Metropolitana bola založená v roku 1908 ako Segunda División de Ascenso. V roku 1911 bol názov zmenený na Primera División de Ascenso a v roku 1937 na Primera C. V roku 1945 bola súťaž reorganizovaná a bola do nej zaradená druhá úroveň systému futbalových súťaží v Argentíne. V roku 1951 bol názov zmenený na Primera C Metropolitana.

**Formát**

Súťaž Primera C Metropolitana sa hrá v dvoch fázach. V prvej fáze 20 tímov hrá každý s každým dvakrát, raz doma a raz vonku. Po prvej fáze je prvá polovica tímov zaradená do "Torneo Reducido" (redukovaného turnaja), kde hrajú o postup do Primera B Nacional. Druhá polovica tímov je zaradená do "Torneo Permanencia" (turnaj o udržanie), kde hrajú o udržanie sa v Primera C Metropolitana.
