Ovarense Basquetebol is a professional basketball team that plays in Ovar, Portugal. The team plays in the LPB. The Ovarense created its section of basketball in 1970, with the initiative of a member entrepreneur, João Gonçalves, but in this period of time managed to assert itself as one of the standards and the inevitable reference method in Portugal.
History
Between 1976–77 and 1978–79, Ovarense ascended from third to first, on the national level, indicating that the team's basketball vocation was strong. The club never fell from its division, and the arrival of two Americans at the end of the 80s gave the team the quality required to raise its level.
**Ovarense** je portugalský basketbalový klub, ktorý v súčasnosti pôsobí v najvyššej portugalskej basketbalovej lige, Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebol. Klub bol založený v roku 1965 a sídli v meste Ovar v okrese Aveiro.
Ovarense je jedným z najúspešnejších basketbalových klubov v Portugalsku s tromi titulmi v portugalskej lige (1987–88, 1988–89, 1995–96) a piatimi víťazstvami v portugalskom pohári (1985–86, 1986–87, 1991–92, 1994–95, 2001–02). Klub sa tiež 12-krát zúčastnil európskych súťaží, vrátane Euroligy a EuroCupu.
Domáce zápasy Ovarense hráva v aréne Arena Dolce Vita, ktorá má kapacitu 5 500 divákov. Súčasným trénerom klubu je Miguel Ángel Hoyo a jeho kapitánom je Armando Costa.
